Mahindra XUV400: Mahindra and Mahindra finally launched its much-awaited electric compact SUV XUV400 in the Indian market on Monday. Along with this, the prices of this electric car were also announced. Interestingly, this electric car is based on the company’s compact SUV XUV300. Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will compete with cars like Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market. Which is currently the best selling electric car in India. Mahindra XUV400 price
Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be available in two different variants – EC and EL. Mahindra XUV400 EV is priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker has announced that this is the introductory price of the electric SUV which is valid for the first 5,000 bookings. That means it is clear that the company intends to increase its prices. Mahindra also claimed that it aims to deliver 20,000 units of the XUV400 within a year of its launch.

Tata Nexon EV Max: Variants and price
Tata Nexon EV Max is available in three variants – XZ+, XZ+ Lux and Jet Edition. The starting ex-showroom price of Nexon EV Max is Rs 18.34, which goes up to Rs 20.04 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model.

Mahindra XUV400 color options
The electric compact SUV is available in five different color options, which are – Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue, with a dual-tone option of Satin Copper. The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will also take on rivals like the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV.

Tata Nexon EV Max: Color Options
Along with the Nexon EV Max, Tata Motors has also introduced its high voltage state-of-the-art Ziptron technology. Tata Nexon EV Max comes with three exterior paint options. Which includes colors like Intensity-Teal (exclusive for Nexon EV Max), Daytona Gray and Pristine White. Dual tone body color is available as standard across the entire model lineup.

The PSM electric motor in the XUV400 electric SUV generates 147 hp of maximum power and 310 Nm of peak torque. The top speed of Mahindra XUV400 is 150 kmph. It has three driving modes that alter the power delivery and steering feel. The XUV400 electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds.

The Tata Nexon EV Max has a 40.5kWh battery pack under the floorpan, which is 33 percent taller than the standard model. A lithium-ion battery powers the electric motor mounted on the front axle. This setup claims outputs of 143bhp and 250Nm. In this way, it is 14bhp more powerful and produces 5Nm more torque than the standard range model of Nexon EV. In this, torque is available at the push of the pedal. Tata Nexon EV Max electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9 seconds.

Battery Pack and Charging
The battery capacity of the XUV400 electric SUV is 39.4 kWh and the battery pack is IP67 water and dust-proof. There is also a chiller and a heater for the batteries and the batteries are manufactured in India only.

At the same time, Tata offers two charging options with the electric SUV – standard 3.3kWh charger and 7.2kWh AC fast charger. The car can be easily charged by installing a fast charger at home or office. The battery pack of Nexon EV Max can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 56 minutes using any 50 kW DC fast charger. Whereas it can be fully charged in 15-16 hours through 3.3kWh charger and in 5-6 hours through 7.2kWh AC fast charger.

According to Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), the driving range of Mahindra XUV400 is 456 km. Mahindra is also offering one pedal driving so that when the driver releases the accelerator, the vehicle starts applying brakes and generating electric power automatically.

Meanwhile, the Tata Nexon EV Max promises a range of 437 km on a full charge (under standard testing conditions). In this, it has been claimed to make return journey from Mumbai to Pune, Bengaluru to Mysore, Chennai to Pondicherry, Delhi to Kurukshetra, Ranchi to Dhanbad and Gandhinagar to Vadodara. The car will give a driving range of around 300 km in real-world conditions.

Mahindra XUV400: Interior and features
Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV gets a 17.78 cm infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from this, Bluesense Plus app is also provided which allows connecting more than 60 mobile app based features. Along with this, it has auto headlamps, smart watch connectivity, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, connected car technology with over-the-air (OTA) updates and single-pane sunroof, leatherette seats, height adjustable driver seat, rear wiper and washer, Features like storage with front armrest, storage with rear armrest are also available.

Tata Nexon EV: Interior and features
Nexon EV Max comes with three drive modes – City, Sport and Eco. This model has a new drive mode selector with an active mode display. Additionally, the new Tata Nexon EV Max comes with a selectable regeneration braking system that enhances its efficiency. This car has advanced ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology which comes with 48 connected car features. Along with this, Tata Nexon EV Max gets features like ventilated seats, all new Makrana beige interior, leather seats with ventilation for front passengers, wireless smartphone charging, auto dimming IRVM, an air purifier, cruise control, a park mode. .

Safety Features
In terms of safety, this electric SUV will get 6 airbags, all-round disc brakes and ISOFIX child seat anchorages as some of the safety technology.

At the same time, Nexon EV Max comes with multi-mode regen with 4 levels and auto brake lamp to alert other road users. Apart from this, this electric car gets features like i-VBAC (Intelligent-Vacuum-less Boost and Active Control), Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold and ESP with 4-disc brakes. Despite fitting a larger battery pack, the Nexon EV Max gets 350-litres of boot space.
