WhatsApp Web May Soon Work Without A Smartphone And It’s Exactly What We Need Right Now

WhatsApp is said to be working on a new web/desktop version of its app that will basically work without your smartphone. It will be able to work even when your smartphone is not connected to the internet, which has been a highly demanded feature ever since WhatsApp web was launched.
The report comes from reliable leaker WABetaInfo, who has claimed that developers are working on a desktop version based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP) and will work even when your smartphone is switched off.
The other new feature that is rumoured is that UWP will also work in sync with a new multi-platform system that will let users access their WhatsApp account on multiple devices.
As of now, WhatsApp Web works via an app or via web.whatsapp.com on the browser. However, the instant messaging app works on desktop only when your smartphone has a working internet connection. In addition, users need to log-in to WhatsApp Web via the app on the smartphone by scanning a QR code.
